Cancun, Mexico, will host the world’s largest gathering of airline leaders and experts as the 73rd IATA AGM gets underway today.
Over the next three days, the event will provide a unique opportunity to gain insight from the industry’s top chief executives and thought leaders.
The IATA AGM will reflect on the air transport industry’s performance in the year gone by, and explore the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Among many highlights of what will be an enlightening and informative three days are panel discussions on globalization (Monday, 14:30-15:30), and disruptive innovation (Tuesday, 09:00-10:00).
Expert speakers from around the globe will discuss these vital issues for the aviation industry.
There will also be a CEO Insight Debate (Monday 16:00-17:00), which this year will focus on airlines who have ‘broken the mould’.
Speaking ahead of the event, IATA Director General and CEO Alexandre de Juniac, said: "The airline industry’s most senior leaders will work together to address air transport’s most critical issues.
"Hot topics will include finding alternative means to keep flying secure without the inconvenience of the current laptop ban, combating human trafficking, implementing the Carbon Offset and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation, and modernizing air cargo processes."
