A new edition of the Aviation Benefits Report has been published by the aviation sector’s Industry High Level Group (IHLG).
Launched at ICAO’s 40th Assembly in Montreal, the second edition of the IHLG Aviation Benefits Report looks at the benefits of air transport using case studies, aggregated information and analysis.
The IHLG is an industry body that works to promote and safeguard the socio-economic benefits of air transport.
The latest edition demonstrates that with the right policy framework from governments, air connectivity can drive even greater social and economic progress
It is comprised of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Airports Council International (ACI), the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO), and the International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA).
Using real-world examples of the value of air transport to people and economies around the world, the report offers an established view of the socio-economic impacts of aviation alongside the current challenges and future objectives.
“The latest edition of the Aviation Benefits Report demonstrates that with the right policy framework from governments, air connectivity can grow stronger, driving even greater social and economic progress,” said IATA Director General and CEO Alexandre de Juniac.
The second edition report also highlights the ability of international connectivity in opening foreign markets and supplies to local communities and businesses, enhancing cultural and social exchange, and its vital role in humanitarian and emergency incidents.
