European travel rules still confusing for passengers

IATA warned that free movement within Europe is being compromised by the failure of EU member states to harmonize COVID-19 entry regulations. As a result, the reopening of borders is confusing travelers and businesses and not delivering the expected benefits in terms of easier travel and economic recovery.


Inconsistency disrupts European summer travel

Airlines and airports have warned of major operational risks due to the inconsistent approach by Member States in applying the Digital COVID Certificate (DCC) across Europe. In a letter sent yesterday to EU Heads of State, the industry urged leaders to harmonize DCC verification standards and protocols, to avoid unnecessary airport queues and ensure a smooth passenger experience.
