IATA is urging Africa’s health and transport authorities to accelerate and expand the harmonized implementation of ICAO’s Council Aviation Recovery Task Force’s (CART) guidance for the safe resumption of air travel and tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic.
IATA is calling on governments around the world to “avoid an industry calamity” in the air transport sector resulting from the global spread of COVID-19 by offering financial relief measures such as direct financial support, loans and tax rebates or suspensions.
The aviation industry takes health emergencies seriously and works in conjunction with all relevant authorities to contain the spread of a virus as much as possible.
